Gift giving season is upon us. The shopping, commercials, and decorations have arrived too early in my opinion. I’m a firm believer in Thanksgiving having the attention it deserves, the attention we need to give it. But that soapbox aside, the Christmas Bazaars are here and The Journey Back Mission Store will be open for your gift-giving needs. Which brings me to another thing I’ve become passionate about… shopping local small businesses, handmade and nonprofits – “Shop Small” as they say. When you choose to buy gifts from people like us, you’re giving big.
Your gift means even more to the recipient because it is unique, handmade and carefully designed.
Your gift means something to us – you’re supporting our mission, helping us do what we love to do and what we believe we’ve been called to do.
Your gift means something to the Holocaust survivors, Ukrainian children, camp and churches who will receive our message of love and hope.
Isn’t that better than growing the bottom line of a big company? I’ll admit that a number of my gifts this Christmas will come from Walmart and Amazon. But where I can, I’ll be shopping small, and I hope you will too.
The Journey Back Mission Store will be set up and well stocked at these great local events:
You can preview and even claim your goods online by clicking here, but we will have a number of items only available at these in-person sales. Come see us!
My mom has been hard at work in her farmhouse kitchen again this year to support our 2018 mission. We have over 300 jars to sell, enough to cover the cost of two plane tickets if we sell them all! New this year… The Sampler! Get a variety pack of 4 oz jars for just $15! A perfect gift!
This is what is missing from your Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners!
Purchase here or post a comment to claim yours for offline buying. We’ll also have them for sale and pick up at our upcoming craft fair sales. Final date for purchase is December 15 or while supplies last (you might want to hurry!) Shipping isn’t recommended on this one, but if you’re not local (and willing to risk it) I’ll try to get them to you in one piece! Please add the shipping fee at the bottom to your cart to cover the added cost.
There are lots of other great finds available in our mission store. Do your gift shopping with us this season!

Throughout Scripture, we see God providing again and again for His people. We are very excited to announce that He has once again provided for us. We have the funds necessary to allow us to return as a family for a month of ministry in Poland! We cannot begin to express our gratitude to all of you who have given generously and helped support us in so many ways – financially as well as through encouragement, helping with fundraising and prayer. We pray that God will bless you for your role in growing the Kingdom.
Our mission store remains open, and we will continue to put away donations anyone feels called to give. Additional funds would allow us to help bring more kids to camp ($125 each) and prepare for future years – since we plan to keep serving until God tells us otherwise. We believe his provision confirms His call to us, and we will obey as long as He is leading.
As of this morning, we are just $650 short of being able to buy our plane tickets! We are so excited and grateful for the support. Our purchasing target has been the end of March, so we are giving our final plea for the remaining half of the last ticket price. Here are the ways you can help close the gap…
- Donate. Visit our Financial Support page to learn how.
- Shop. Our Mission Store has lots of new items! All proceeds go towards our costs.
- Party! Monica McMullen has graciously volunteered to host a Premier Designs Jewelry Party as a fundraiser for us tomorrow (Sunday, March 29) after 2nd service. Come enjoy the fashion show, tips and browse through the amazing selections of fine jewelry they have to offer.
Thank you for prayerfully considering a contribution. We hope to announce soon that we have our tickets!
Today we had a chance to share with our home congregation – what God is doing in Poland, Ukraine and Israel and how we get to be a part of it all. We shared during the Sunday School hour, and were so encouraged by the words, hugs, prayers offered and giving towards the cost of our airfare. We also had our Mission Store items on display for those who wanted to make a supporting purchase but don’t like to shop online.
Yesterday we only had enough funds to cover Ben’s plane ticket and about half of mine. Today, I’m pleased to report that we have enough for about 2 1/2 tickets. Thank you so much to all who have partnered with us to make this return to Poland possible. We’re getting close! Our hope is to have the remaining funding ($1745) by the end of March, which is when we will cross into the time period that prices typically start to climb. Please see our Financial Support page for information about giving, or shop our Mission Store if you would like to support this ministry.
