Our 2014 Support Letter
The Porter family has come to realize that God never intended this Poland ministry thing to be fleeting. He has captured our hearts for Poland and made it clear that we are invited to continue being part of His work. We are amazed, humbled and willing. We are preparing to return on May 31, spending the first half of the summer on this mission field that is beginning to feel like a second home. As you might imagine, we have now developed some relationships that allow us to reach deeper levels of discipleship. We are eager to see our Jewish friends and the Russian children, continue to reach out to those who have lost a child, support the Christian churches of Poland, and encourage the Korytkowski family as they direct the outreach of Ostróda Camp.
We invite you to join us in this missionary work in two ways. First, we need your prayers, and we can’t tell you how important they are. Second, as much as we hate this part, we have to ask for financial assistance to make this possible. Setting aside all the funds we can manage from our own budget, we are currently almost $3000 short of the cost of airfare (which we need to purchase as soon as possible), and $2500 short of the remaining expenses. If God places it on your heart and you are able to financially contribute, we will be so very grateful. Checks may be written directly to us or to Rockville Christian Church with the memo indicating “Porter Poland Mission”. All proceeds from Rachel’s handmade bracelets go toward this fund as well. They are available at the Welcome Center and at www.etsy.com/shop/TheJourneyBack
Please join us Sunday, April 6 for a special dinner in the Rockville Christian Church Fellowship Hall after 2nd service. We will share pictures, stories and food, and take up a free-will offering toward our airfare.
Visit other areas of this site to sign our prayer covenant, buy a bracelet or financially contribute to this mission work.
We are blessed to have you as part of our family. Thank you for supporting us.
Ready to be His Feet,
