Arrived, Rested and Serving

Posted on

2013-05-30 20.51.31I hope none of you are fearful that our plane crashed into the ocean or anything, since this is the first opportunity I’ve had to post a message that we did arrive safely.  The travel proved to be a bit much for Ethan, who cried twice and repeated several times “I just want to go home.”  Please pray for my little guy.  He’s much better now that he’s had some sleep and met his new friends, but I do think he’s really going to struggle with homesickness.

After arrival in Warsaw yesterday late morning, we were able to catch a little nap while Dave attending his Polish class and went to the bank to exchange our money for us.  Then we made the 3 hour drive to Ostróda.  The Korytkowski children were allowed to stay up late to wait for us, and it was only minutes before all five children were running around playing as if they’d known each other for life.

This morning, Ben and Dave left for more travel as they begin visiting several PCM supported churches.  We are missing Daddy  already, but we know that he is doing something good by going to help encourage and advise these young congregations. I slept the entire morning in an attempt to make up for the entire night of sleep I lost on the way here.  Then the kids and I helped pick up 502,038 (something like that) birch tree twigs that are just everywhere, I did a little mowing, and we began cleaning up the grounds a bit.  We need to get the amphitheater ready for a campfire and cookout on Sunday.

So, we have arrived safely, are becoming rested, and have started serving in small ways.  God is good, and we thank you very much for your prayers!

Thanks for the update Rachel! Been thinking about you all a lot lately! Keeping you in our prayers as you continue to do God’s work! And Ethan, he won’t want to leave when it’s time to go! Giving him a little extra prayer to know how much he is loved!

Glad to hear you arrived safely and are getting started. I’ll continue to pray for you and especially for Ethan. Sleep and busyness will hopefully help him not miss home so much. Love you!

So glad you are there. Your children are a answer to prayer for my grandchildren Lidia, Ben and Klara – They so enjoy American friends. I am April’s mother.

Oh! Mary! So nice to hear from you! We have really loved getting to know your daughter and her family. Our kids are having a GREAT time with your grandchildren. Anna has already commented about being sad to leave Lidia, and we aren’t even half way through our stay. Thanks for reading and posting on the blog!

Thank you God for your safe arrival! I will be saying some special prayers for sweet little Ethan. Poor baby . 😦 You hit the ground “serving” , as you guys always do! I love how children can immediately take to one another and are free of the restrictions we adults sometimes put on one another. 🙂 Thanks for the updates, the prayers are going up each day!
