We Made It!
Wow. Less than a month of fund-raising and today I get to post that we’ve reached our goal! When we receive the remaining funds that we’ve been told are on the way we will be right at the estimated total for our trip. I love how God has taken care of this detail well before the deadline so we can focus on other things!
If you’ve read the new post “New Chances to Serve” you know that there are certainly things for us to be preparing for. If you were planning on supporting us financially, you could still help by donating supplies or additional funds to cover the cost of these supplies, as these were not part of the expenses calculated in our goal. We need scrapbooking stuff for the activities we will lead and the camp is in need of tennis balls, badminton birdies and a 50-ft climbing rope. We’ll be visiting Hobby Lobby sometime soon to purchase the craft things, so Hobby Lobby gift cards would be great too.
Thank you very much to all who have given, whatever the amount – time, money, prayers or encouragement, to support this mission trip. We are grateful.
The Journey Back

Hey Rachel, I have a big book for scrapbooking that I just will not use. I would be quite happy to send it with my dear hubby and you can stop in at CVS in Rockville to get it from him. He will be there tomorrow(Fri) from 11-9, off this weekend & back on Monday. Just let me know, I’m going to be on the look out for other things too. This is so exciting! I feel like I’m going on the trip with you guys. Praying daily!

Wonderful! Thank you so much, Jan. I can stop in tomorrow (Fri) if you get this in time to send it with him. Let me know. Otherwise I will stop in on Monday. Glad to have a little “Jan” going along in our suitcase!

Do you still need scrapbooking supplies? If so, I’ll hit the local Hobby Lobby in Avon…..maybe pick up a can of tennis balls at Walmart…..let me know. 🙂

I can’t believe I can say this, but I actually don’t think we need you to do that. We have received a few donations beyond our original goal and are using those to fulfill the additional cost of the scrapbook materials. We haven’t made our shopping trip (waiting for the books to be on 50% off at Hobby Lobby) so I could be wrong, but right now I really think we can cover it. I’m thinking about using the big book you’re donating to make a book for the camp to keep and to use as a sample during the activity time. Then we’ll purchase smaller ones with these additional funds for the campers to use. If the money doesn’t stretch as far as I think it will, I promise to let you know!

That is wonderful Rachel! If ever God was making it know this trip was meant to be……! Michael is at work today(Thurs) until 9:00, then he’ll be there tomorrow from 10-7. He knows you’ll be coming to collect it. YES, that is exciting, I get to go along with you! 🙂
